Joining as a cadet

CHANGE OF JOINING AGE

A young person who is over 12 years of age becomes eligible to join the RAF Air Cadet from the start of school year 8 in England and Wales. In addition any young person becomes eligible to join when they reach 13 years of age regardless of their school year. A person can not join after their 17th birthday.

The RAF Air Cadets offers a wide range of activities including, adventure training, target shooting, Duke of Edinburgh award and various sports. Most activities are free, but some camps require a contribution towards costs.

We parade every Tuesday and Thursday evening between 7.15pm - 9.30pm, providing a wide range of activities, as well as offering some activities at the weekend. Find our Squadron location details here.
