Cadets Go White Water Kayaking

On Sunday 27th July, cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron took part in a day of white water kayaking at the Cardington Artificial Slalom Course within Priory Country Park.

Along with cadets from across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire wing, the five Sandy cadets enjoyed a day on the dedicated slalom course. For most of the cadets it was their first taste of white water kayaking, and proved to be a very enjoyable day.

Fitted with helmets and buoyancy aids, the cadets all got multiple goes down the course, which tested the cadet’s control of the kayaks, with the less experienced cadets quickly getting used to controlling the kayaks.

Cadet George Arnold (13) commented, “The day was really good, and I got to have several goes down the course. This was the first time I’ve been white water kayaking, and I’ll definitely be having a go again”.
