Remembrance Sunday

On Sunday 11th November, Cadets and Staff from 22 (Sandy) Squadron took part in the annual Remembrance Parade and service held in Sandy.

With the parade forming up at Swan Lane in Sandy, the Cadet and Staff marched off with the parade, led by the Sandy Scout Reunion Band to the War Memorial for a short service of Remembrance.

At the Sandy War Memorial, Cadet Prubhpreet Dhillon (14) laid a wreath on behalf of the Squadron cadets and staff, and Cadet Sergeant Laura Dorrell (16) was the Squadron banner bearer during the parade.

After the two minute silence and all the wreaths had been laid, the parade continued to the church for the service of remembrance.

After the church service, there was a march past, with the salute being taken by local dignitaries, including Mayor of Sandy Cllr Susan Sutton, and Mid Bedfordshire MP Alistair Burt.

Cadet Sergeant Laura Dorrell said “A massive well done to all of cadets today. I've been told and praised by so many people today saying how good the cadets were on parade”.

Sergeant Sinead How ATC said “I'd just like to say how proud I was of every single cadet on parade. Remembrance parade is one of the most important parades the cadets will do each year, and they all did amazingly well and should be proud of yourselves”.
