RAF Valley Summer Camp

Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron recently returned from summer camp at RAF Valley in Wales, which started on Saturday 14th July.

The camp saw the cadets involved in many activities throughout the week, including visits to various units based at the RAF Station. The cadets also had a Barbeque on the beach, Go-Karting, bowling, visit to a Welsh castle , a night exercise run by members of the armed forces, and plenty of time on the range doing target shooting.

Another highlight of the week was the chance for the cadets to meet the Red Arrows Aerobatic Display Team, who were visiting the station. Cadet Corporal William Clubb also got the chance to do some work experience at Air Traffic Control, seeing how the RAF operate day to day.

Cadet Corporal Clubb (15) commented on the camp, “It was an excellent camp that had a lot offer, with a great range of activities. Overall a very enjoyable week away, and I’m looking forward to the next one”.
