Sandy Cadets Bag Packing

Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron recently raised an astonishing £1383.92 after doing two days of bag packing at Sainsbury’s in Biggleswade.

The cadets were in Sainsbury’s on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October, working throughout the day to help customers pack their shopping, raising £793.04 on Saturday, and £590.88 on the Sunday.

Cadet William Clubb (14) said, “A lot of people commented on what a good job we were doing and how smartly dressed we were, which was really good to hear. They’ve all been really generous with their donations”.

Adult Sergeant Sinead How also commented, “The cadets have done a really good job over the two days, and it shows from the total. This will be very beneficial in giving the cadets new equipment, and to get them doing activities”.

Many thanks go to Sainsbury’s for allowing us to, and to the generosity of their customers for their kind donations. The money will go a long way to funding Duke of Edinburgh’s Award equipment for the cadets, such as tents and cooking equipment.
