Sandy Cadets Make Selection

On Sunday 11th September, Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron were selected to represent Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire Wing at soccer and netball.

The trials process held at RAF Brampton saw Cadet Corporal William Phoenix (15) and Cadet Matthew Wilcox (15) both selected to compete in the junior boys soccer team, after getting through the demanding selection process to get a place on the wing team.

Cadet Corporal Laura Dorrell (14), and Cadet Flight Sergeant Kimberley Coates (18) were also selected to compete in the girls open netball team, after impressing during the inter-squadron Netball Competition held on the same day.

Cadet Corporal William Phoenix said, “I’m really pleased to have been given the chance to represent the wing at football. I play outside of cadets, but it was still a challenging trial and was exhausted afterwards”.

All four cadets will be competing later in the month at RAF Cranwell against teams from across East Anglia.
