RAF Reserves visit Sandy cadets

On Tuesday 24th May, 22 (Sandy) Squadron where visited by RAF Reserves from 504 Squadron, to give a presentation on the job they perform.

504 (County of Nottingham) Squadron RAF Reserves are made up of part-time service personnel, which work alongside 3 Squadron RAF Regiment, and are based at RAF Cottesmore. 504 Squadron have been on operation in both Iraq and Afghanistan in their support role.

The commanding officer of 504 Squadron, Squadron Leader Ham gave the cadets an in-depth look at the role they play within the RAF, and answering any questions the cadets had about the RAF reserves.

The cadets then got to have a look at the equipment the squadron use on operations, including protective body armour, a number of different firearms, and military rations.

Cadet Elliot Hall said, “It was great to hear the experiences they’ve had, and to see they equipment they use”.
