Sandy Cadets Dinning In Night

On Friday 25th January, cadets and staff from 22 (Sandy) Squadron held their annual formal dining in night at The Highwayman in St Neots.

With squadron president, Cllr Colin Osborne MBE, joining in as the guest of honour, the cadets and staff dressed for the occasion in dinner suits with black bow ties, and evening dresses for the girls.

After enjoying the three course meal, the youngest member of the squadron, Cadet Jakub Grobowski (13) made the loyal toast to HM the Queen, followed by a toast to the squadron and the year ahead.

The evening ended with a short speech from the squadron commanding officer, Flight Lieutenant Mark Robinson, who commented on the success the squadron has achieved over the last year, thanking the cadets and staff for all their hard work and effort.

Cadet Corporal Joshua Bruce (16) commented after the dinner “I really enjoyed the evening, especially as it’s not often that I get the chance to go to a wear a dinner suit and attend a formal dinner such as this”
