Poppy Appeal

On Saturday 6th November, Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron were out collecting in Sandy town centre for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Poppy AppealEvery year the squadron helps to support the Royal British Legion in raising funds through the Poppy Appeal, collecting in Sandy town centre, providing poppies to the people of Sandy in commemoration of those who have given their lives for the country.

The support from the town this year was as great as ever, with many showing their support for the cause.

Cadet William Phoenix (14) said “When you hear many of the stories about the sacrifices people have made for their country, it makes the Poppy Appeal feel really special to be a part of. The support from the town has been amazing, with most people in town wearing poppies”.

Flight Lieutenant Geoff Matthews also commented “It’s always great to see the cadets collecting for the Poppy Appeal, and the support received from the town. The cadets can be proud of their efforts”.

Many thanks to the kind people who have donated in support of this highly worthwhile cause.
