On Friday 23rd July, Air Cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron attended a Careers day at the Farnborough International Airshow. The day was laid on by the Society of British Aerospace Constructors to show young people what a career in the aerospace industry could offer them.

The cadets got the chance to find out about the many colleges and universities offering courses in aerospace relates subject, as well as talk to many companies which are keen to get more young people going into careers in aerospace. One cadet was even was treated to a personal in-depth briefing in the British Army’s Apache attack helicopter.

The following day four cadets got the chance to undertake Induction Training on the motorised gliders based at RAF Henlow. With the weather being about as good as it could be for flying, the cadets were able to make the most of their flights, learning as much as they could about gliding.

A group of cadets also recently attended a session of circuit training at RAF Henlow, as part of a build up over the next six weeks to try-out for the full RAF fitness test, a great experience for anyone considering a career in the Armed Forces.
