Sandy Cadets Make The Team

On Sunday 8th January, cadets from 22 (Sandy) Squadron attended the wing sports trials and netball competition, with six cadets earning a place to represent Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire wing.

The trials and netball competition were held at RAF Brampton, where the cadets were tested for the Junior Boys Rugby team, and the Senior Boys Soccer team.

The Junior girls netball saw the girls competing in a tournament against teams from other squadron, and ended with the selections for the wing team.

Congratulations go to Cadet Jakub Grabowski (14), Cadet Sam Keeble (15) and Cadet William Clubb, who made it onto the Junior Boys Rugby team, and Cadet Matthew Randall (17) who was selected to join the Senior Boys Soccer team.

Also well done to Cadet Corporal Laura Dorrell (15) and Cadet Jessica Gouveia (14) for being selected for the wing junior girls netball team.

Cadet Corporal Laura Dorrell (15) said, “Making the wing team is a really good achievement, especially with the level of competition. Well done to all the cadets from Sandy for getting through to the Wing teams”

The selected cadets will now go on to represent Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire wing at the regional competition at the end of January and February.
