Gliding and wing hockey

Cadet Haydn Rout (16) from 22 (Sandy) Squadron recently completed his gliding Scholarship, gaining his blue gliding wings.

The course, held at RAF Henlow by 616 Squadron Volunteer Gliding School, requires cadets to complete a minimum of 8 hours of gliding training before achieving their blue gliding wings.

Cadet Rout said, “Achieving my blue wings had been a great achievement, and I have enjoyed the course a lot, even though the weather has meant it has taken longer to achieve”.

Also well done to Cadet Laura Dorrell (14), Cadet Sergeant Tiffany Cotton (16) and Cadet Sergeant Kimberly Coates (17) for recently competing for the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire open girls hockey team at RAF Cranwell.
